Το “This Is Our Night” είναι σύνθεση του συνθέτη Δημήτρη Κοντόπουλου, ο οποίος επιλέχθηκε από την ΕΡΤ και το Σάκη Ρουβά για να συνθέσει και τα τρία υποψήφια τραγούδια για την Εurovision του 2009.
Στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου βγήκαν στη δημοσιότητα οι τίτλοι, οι στιχουργοί και επίσης λίγες μόνο πληροφορίες για τα τρία κομμάτια, με το This Is Our Night να χαρακτηρίζεται επιβλητικό ποπ-χορευτικό κομμάτι.
Οι στιχουργοί ήταν δυο ελληνο-αυστραλοί παραγωγοί, ο Κραίγκ Πόρτεϊλς, επιτυχημένος στιχουργός, συνθέτης, κιθαρίστας και παραγωγός, που παλιά ζούσε στην Αμερική κι έχει γράψει για μεγάλα ονόματα, όπως η Σερ, ο Μπίλλυ Αïντολ, ο Τέβιν Κάμπλ, οι Guns N’ Roses, ο Ρίτσι Σαμπόρα και ο Όζζυ Όσμπορν, και ο Κάμερον Τζάιλς-Ουέμπ, ο οποίος είναι επίσης επιτυχημένος στιχουργός στην Αυστραλία αλλά και ο διευθυντής παραγωγός της εταιρείας Gusto Music.
Το κομμάτι ήταν το φαβορί για τη νίκη στον Ελληνικό τελικό, πριν να έχει ήδη ακουστεί.
Στις 12 Φεβρουαρίου, πραγματοποιήθηκε η δεύτερη επίσημη συνέντευξη τύπου στο ξενοδοχείο «Χίλτον» της Αθήνας όπου παρουσιάστηκαν για πρώτη φορά τα τρία κομμάτια, με τελευταίο το This Is Our Night.
Το This Is Our Night έγινε το νούμερο 1 τραγούδι στο Ελληνικό iTunes από την πρώτη μέρα της κυκλοφορίας του, ενώ ένα μήνα μετά τη Γιουροβίζιον το τραγούδι μεταγλωττίστηκε και στα ελληνικά με τον τίτλο Πιο Δυνατά.
